Fellow writers, save the dates and join writer colleagues March 17-18 in Seaside, Oregon, for a dynamic and affordable conference, Travel & Words Spring ’13.
I’ve attended Travel & Words for the last few years. One of my favorite aspects of this conference is that it provides a comfortable forum for writers interested in creating and selling travel stories in a rapidly changing world. Freelance writers will gain a wealth of story ideas and contacts with not only editors, publishers, and writer colleagues but also travel and tourism specialists from Oregon and Washington. Through Travel & Words, I’ve found markets for my articles while connecting with editors, writers, and travel bureaus.
Workshops are led by experts cover online paying markets, ways to benefit from social media, tips on earning freelance income, and more. Dave Peterson, publisher of Northwest Travel Magazine, and Maralyn Hill, immediate past president of International Food, Wine and Travel Writers Association (IFWTWA) are the main speakers. The $125 registration fee covers all workshops, panel talks, beverages, snacks, lunch and will also highlight special appetizers at the Networking Mixer. No host bar at the Mixer will feature Pacific NW brews, wines, and ciders.
