I’m a freelance writer with a BA in European History, born and raised in northern California. I spent most of my teen years on horseback, riding the trails in Mt Diablo State Park, Yosemite, the Pacific Crest Trail, and the Sierra Nevadas. My love of mountains and forests drew me to the Pacific Northwest, where I’ve lived the past 13 years. Before becoming a full-time freelance writer, I spent several years working in the mortgage industry, 10 years in various customer service industries and 7 years as a bookseller at Powell’s Books.
I specialize in family-friendly travel, traveling in the Washington state, Oregon, California and the country of Wales, parenting, history, customer service, WordPress content management, health and safety, personal finance, books and the publishing industry.
I write for online and print publications, including Visit Rainier, EuropeUpClose, and Northwest Travel Magazine. I’m on the planning committee for the annual Travel & Words Conference, which is held in the Pacific NW each spring. I also provide content management services for WordPress websites, my clients include Denalect Alarm and Travel & Words.
In my spare time I explore the Pacific Northwest with my husband and our young son or work on my mystery novel set in medieval Wales.
